Code ADAM is an internationally-recognized "missing child" safety program in the USA and Canada, originally created by Wal-Mart retail stores in 1994. It is named in memory of Adam Walsh, the 6-year-old son of John Walsh.
I should have know that programs like this were implemented for people like my son. Yes, while at Wal-Mart today Jack ran away from me. I didn't spend too much time looking for him before I notified a clerk that I had a missing child (I figured that if he wasn't in the arcade then his next move would to exit the store completely). Well as most of you don't have unruly children, let me tell you what happens when they call out a "Code ADAM". You, the parent has to wait at the customer service counter while the whole store goes on lock down. Every employee on the sales floor is required to stop and look for the missing child. No one (this means customers) is allowed to come into or leave the store until the child is found. So here I am standing hopelessly at the customer service desk just praying that Jack is not hiding in some clothing racks or something equally as mischievous, and time is just ticking by. Well, it took 10 min. for an employee to finally locate the evasive child. As the associate was walking towards the customer service desk to return my lost property, I noticed that Jacks legs were black...!?!? As they got closer I realised that Jack was wearing a pair of knee-high women's pantyhose with his flip flops on. AAAHHHH! I guess that I can now add cross dresser to the list of things that my son has become against my will. Why does this never happen to Chris? Wish I had a picture to share, but hopefully the visual will be enough for your to acknowledge the total embarrassment that I felt.
